FEI Pony European Championships
Bishop Burton 2018
Germany’s pony dressage riders returned home from the 41st FEI Pony European Championships in the British Bishop Burton with five of seven possible medals. The European Championship newcomer Moritz Treffinger provided three gold medals and was the obvious match winner. In cross-country the team missed the winner’s podium by a hair’s breadth – as well in the individual scoring where Emily Roberg only reached the fourth place. In the jumping course Lea-Sophie Gut reached the eleventh place and was the best of the Germans. The team ranked overall on the fifth place. Though the German dressage pony breeding should have won a gold medal as well as most of the competing ponies came from German breeders. This rather down-to-earth track record does not represent the German team spirit or the emotions connected to this event – unlike the EQUI-La book which brings up all the beautiful memories that were made in Burton Bishop at the FEI Pony European Championship 2018.
